WHY CHOOSE BELMONT FARM FOR YOUR FAMILY'S MEAT AND PRODUCE?

We're a family farm that is "local" to Pittsburgh, Youngstown and Erie. You can come to the farm and see our production methods, visit with us or plan a quiet day in the country.  We raise poultry, eggs and lamb on pasture.  That means they eat a diet that they choose, and that is as natural as can be. 

In contrast to industrial confinement meat production, our animals are given a healthy dose of fresh air, sunshine, and space. They nibble on their choice of grass, clover, herbs, and weeds and wild flowers depending on the season and their mood.  They are never "pushed" with feed or hormones, but left to develop as God and nature intended.  While our lambs as ruminants, are never fed grains, chickens have additional nutritional needs that can best be met with a feed supplement.  In this case, we do not "push" them artificially, but we do feed Non-GMO feeds that are matched to their needs.

We also grow many of our own fruits and vegetables.  When we have extra, we occasionally offer those for sale here at the farm as well.  Sometimes we get a deal on other items from our friends or neighbors, such as herbs or flowers, or dairy products or even soaps and lotions.  When that happens we feel good about offering those things to you too.

We feel that the best farm inspector is you, the consumer, so feel free to call ahead or drop by during business hours.  We can't promise to always be available, but we do mean to make it worth your time and effort.

We are a small family farm, we eat what we sell.  In fact, we fill our freezers with the same food we offer to you.  There is NOTHING you can find in the supermarket that can match the flavor and purity that nature builds into our food.  Our rotational grazing system provides our animal with fresh forages day by day and improves the quality of the soils rather than stripping them.  Those soils help to nourish our grasses, fruits and vegetables and close the circle
